Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Mark your calendars: December 5th 2016. Google have been working hard to ensure a stable version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat is released. It is set for December 5th. Google usually starts serving up system images around noon PST when a new Android version lands. With the time differences, it might also mean that the release will be on December 6th in the far East.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat is expected to be the official software that original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) will use to update their handsets to Google’s latest system version, instead of Android 7.1. However, it may take several weeks and months before unlocked and carrier models of non-Google devices (Nexus and Pixel) receive the update. Google branded devices receive the latest Android updates first, giving Nexus and Pixel devices first priority.

What’s New?

Android Nougat doesn’t make major changes to the way your phone looks or how it feels. What Google have done however is bringing in some new features. This video from Android Central show the top five features that will come with Android 7.1.1. There are actually more features coming your way with this OS.

Let’s wait and see what Android comes up with next.
